Originally inspired by my grandfather's watercolours, my own artistic journey included studying at Bolton Collage of Art and Manchester School of Art gaining a B.A Hons. degree in Fine Art.

Shortly after graduating I moved to Crosby, North Liverpool. Gradually my work became more and more focused on the two miles of urban beach at Crosby. The ever changing weather, light, and the many varied ways people use and interact with the beach, provide me with endless painting possibilities.

Now working exclusively in oil on canvas or board. I describe my paintings as sub photo real. I paint relatively quickly, considering the detail involved, until many layers and and glazes give me the desired finish.
